FAQ's

Q: How often should I attend therapy sessions?

The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Typically, I recommend starting weekly sessions, as this allows us to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and make consistent progress. As you begin to experience improvements, we may discuss tapering sessions to biweekly or monthly.

Q: What can I expect during my first therapy session?

During your first session, we'll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and your goals. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if we're a good fit. I'll also answer any questions you may have about the therapy process and my approach.

Q: Who do you treat?
I work with adult individuals. My practice is inclusive and I welcome all who seek support and growth.

Q: What are your rates?
My standard rate is $250 per session, depending on financial means. Please don't hesitate to discuss your financial concerns with me, as I'm committed to making therapy accessible as possible. I can also make referrals as well.

 Q: Do you accept insurance?

While I do not accept insurance, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider or HSA account for reimbursement. If you'd like more information to help you make your decision, feel free to ask when you call, and I'll be happy to discuss the pros and cons in more detail. There are several advantages to choosing private pay over using insurance, including more privacy and better control over your personal information.

Q: Do you offer video or phone sessions?

Yes, I currently offer both video and phone sessions to ensure that my clients can access the support they need from the comfort of their own space. Video sessions have been quite effective. I provide limited hybrid in-person and video sessions in the east bay.

Q: How long will therapy take?

The duration of therapy varies from person to person, as everyone comes to therapy with unique goals and circumstances. Some people seek therapy to resolve a recent trauma or struggle, while others may be looking to address complex PTSD or engage in deeper self-exploration to better understand themselves, their motivations, and their patterns. Together, we'll develop a plan that aligns with your specific needs and goals, and we'll regularly assess your progress to ensure that you're getting the most out of our work together.

Q: Where are you located?
Currently, I am exclusively offering Telehealth services, with a rare in person session near Berkeley. This may change.
